What you should know before your start. Life Coaching is not a regulated industry in the state of California. It is your responsibility to determine if the service is effective and the competency of the coach. Life Coaching is not psychotherapy or counseling. Life Coaching does not address mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association and should not be used as a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, mental health care or substance abuse treatment.
Why Living Well? Living Well provides Life Coaching by or supervised by individuals with a cumulative 30 years experience working with children and adults. Our Directors are educated for and experienced in the identification and instruction of individuals with educational and mental health needs. We have found that, because many people with mental disorders have already received and exited health or educationally based services successfully, Life Coaching may be a positive bridge to or from such services.
We consider your ability to identify your own needs for services and
supports to be a critical part of your life coaching experience and will
guide you in the self determination and use of:
progress monitoring and
locating and use of tools that could assist you in determining if your needs are better met through another service, such as, but not limited to, psychotherapy.
